If you’ve never tried an Alpine Slide, a trip to Oregon is a good time to start. This exhilarating activity is one of the best ways to enjoy Mt. Hood, Oregon’s tallest peak, in the summertime. Riders take a chairlift up the mountain’s slopes and then hop aboard the dual-passenger Alpine Slide (or sled with wheels) that jets down a full half-mile concrete run complete with twists, turns, and plenty of g-force as the Slide gains speed on its downward journey. This thrilling ride is sure to get the whole family begging for more.
Currently the only Alpine Slide on Mt. Hood can be found at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl Resort’s Summer Action Park. Ski Bowl is located off Highway 26 just west (within walking distance) of Government Camp.
The Alpine Slide and the other attractions at the Ski Bowl Summer Action Park are open from June through September. Call for hours of operation, 1 (800) SKIBOWL.
An Action Pass buys a whole day of fun at the Summer Action Park for $69. Or buy 1 ride on the Alpine Slide for $12.
