Museum of Carousel Art

The International Museum of Carousel Art is the home to the world's largest collection of antique, hand-carved wooden carousel animals. Located in Hood River, Oregon, this unique museum celebrates the kid in all of us. There is magic in every carousel animal and kids of all ages enjoy riding on the carousel.

Now nearly twenty - five years old – it was founded in 1983 – the International Museum of Carousel Art began as a passion of two Oregon residents. Starting as a small private collection, the Museum has grown into the largest and most comprehensive collection of both individual carousal art and complete carousels in the world.

Everyone – regardless of his or her age – can enjoy a carousel ride. At any carousel, you will see very small children holding tight to their wooden horses, while their mothers or father hold tight to them – standing next to their steed. At the carnivals in every County Fair, the carousel marks the entrance to the rides. At least once, if not more often, you have said, "Meet at the carousel".

Meet at the International Museum of Carousel Art and enjoy over one hundred carved carousel animals on display, a band organ, chariots, and various other artifacts from years ago. There is something truly magical about riding on the carousel!

The International Museum of Carousel Art is temporarily closed for relocation.
