On the Verge: Climbing for Healthcare in Nepal
Free ... and accepting donations to support the Kumari Hospital and School Project.
About the Event
Experience the Himalaya most visitors never see. The film "On The Verge" follows climbers from Oregon's Mountain Leadership Institute as they attempt 20,305' Island Peak and visit Nepali Guide and activist, Jagat Lama's remote village of Kumari where the region's only hospital and school system is being built. The film documents the dire need for health care in Nepal and the point is driven home when one of their own teammates becomes critically ill at 20,000. A swift and efficient rescue must be launched to save her life. The film benefits the medical and educational work in the village of Kumari.
When
Social hour begins at 6:30pm with authentic Nepalese fare, wine and beer, followed by the film at 7:30. Admission is free and tax deductible donations to support the Kumari Hospital and School Project are appreciated.
